Heartfelt Loneliness

I love alone inside my heart
where no other heart has been
I just can’t seem to pry the door
to let anybody in
It’s such a safe and sacred place
I fear the wrong company

Yet I so desperately
almost obsessively
long for the right guest
in hopes to make him
a permanent resident

But days go by
like empty sighs
and nights are endless
deaths

As the beat endures
its dejected tone
I fear I’ll ever be
alone
